Abstract:Objective To Investigate the effects of intranasal administration of dexmedetomidine to POCD in elderly patients with reduction of enterostomy. Methods For the total of 40 older patients undergoing reduction of enterostomy were randomly divided into two groups, group D and group M,20 cases in each group.1 μg/kg dexmedetomidine (100 μg/ml)were dripped into each nasal cavity 10 min before induction, and 0.05 mg/kg midazolam were given in the duration of induction, and the rest were the same. The hemody-namic index before anesthesia, after the induction,1 h after the beginning of the operation, the end of the operation were recorded;ve-nous blood to test serum S100βprotein was collected. The MMSE score was recorded; The incidence rate of POCD was calculated.Re-sults There were no significantly differences of the hemodynamic index of patients between D group and Mgroup (P >0.05).Serum S100βprotein were rised postoperative (P <0.05),and there were significantly differences between group D and group M(P <0.05). There were no significantly differences of the incidence rate of POCD postoperative 24 h,5 d(P >0.05).Conclusion Intranasal ad-ministration of dexmedetomidine to elderly patients with reduction of enterostomy cerebral protection is effective.
