Abstract:Objective To analyze the influences of different operation time on the curative effects of osteoporotic thoracolum-bar compression fractures. Methods 80 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fractures in Changyuan Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine from March of 2011 to March of 2013 were selected and divide into observation group (40 cases with 42 injured vertebral bodys)and control group (40 cases with 44 injured vertebral bodys).Percutaneous kyphoplasty was per-formed 1 week after injury in observation group and 4 weeks after injury in control group.Duration of surgery, blood loss,VAS scores and Cobb angles before and after operation were recored. The height of injured vertebral bodys and the injection volume of bone cement were measured.Refracture rate was observed in 12 months after operation. Results There was no statistical differ-ence in duration of surgery and blood loss between two groups(P >0.05).The injection volumes and leakage rate of bone cement and the improvement rates of VAS scores and Cobb angles in observation group were higher than control group(P <0.05).In 12 months after operation, there were 2 cases of refracture happened in observation group, the effective rate was 95%,and the con-trol group was 100%.Conclusion Patients with thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures can get better recovery after early operation, and the symptoms of lumbar and back pain can be significantly reduced.Delay surgery can also reduce the symptoms of lumbar and back pain, but the vertebral body shape recovery is poor.
