The observation of clinical effect and treatment cost of XELOX and FOLFIRI regimens for advanced colorectal cancer

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical efficacy,side effects and treatment costs of XELOX and FOLFIRI regimens for advanced colorectal cancer.Methods Fifty advanced colorectal cases who were confirmed by the pathology results were collect-ed in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from June of 2012 to June of 2014.26 cases for XELOX (the study group A);24 cases for FOLFIRI (the control group B).The statistical software was used to analyze the clinical efficacy,side effects and treatment costs of two programs.Results The objective response rate of group A was 23.10%,20.80% in group B, the difference was not statistically significant (P =0.85 >0.05).The disease control rate of group A was 65.40%,58.30% in group B,the difference was not statistically significant (P =0.61 >0.05);The progression -free survival of group A was 6.50 months (95%CI 5.63 ~7.37 months),group B was 5.30 months (95%CI 4.95 ~5.65 months),the difference was statistical-ly significant (χ2 =22.66,P =0.00 <0.05).The hand -foot syndrome group A was higher than group B (P =0.02 <0.05), the incidence of diarrhea of group B was higher than group A (P =0.03 <0.05).The average weekly cost of treatment and the total cost of group B were higher than group A (P <0.05).Conclusion XELOX regimen in the treatment of advanced colorec-tal cancer is effective,the incidence of bone marrow suppression,hair loss,liver damage,nausea,vomiting are equal with FOL-FIRI regimen,XELOX regimen spend less than FOLFIRI,we can choose it first.
