Clinical efficacy of added Jiusheng decoction in the prevention and treatment of oxaliplatin - induced peripheral neurotoxicity

Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of added Jiusheng decoction in the prevention and treatment of oxali-platin - induced peripheral neurotoxicity. Methods 105 patients with malignancy treated in Dancheng County People’s Hospital from 2014 to 2015 were randomly divided into treatment group(54 cases)and control group(51 cases). Both groups were trea-ted with XELOX chemotherapy including oxaliplatin and capecitabine. The treatment group was treated with additional added Ji-usheng decoction. The grades and incidences of peripheral neurotoxicity and Toronto clinical scores(TCSS)were compared be-tween two groups. Results The incidences of peripheral neurotoxicity of treatment group and control group were 59. 3% and 78. 5% respectively. The incidences of peripheral neurotoxicity and TCSS scores of treatment group were lower than control group (P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion Added Jiusheng decoction showed significant efficacy in the prevention and treatment of oxaliplatin -induced peripheral neurotoxicity.
