The expression and significance of miRNA -34c in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Abstract：Objective To detect the expression of miRNA -34c in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues,and investigate the sig-nificance in the occurrence and development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods The relative expression of miRNA -34c in 28 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma with respect to 28 cases of chronic nasopharyngeal flammation tissues were detected by quantitative real -time polymerase chain reaction (qRT -PCR).The correlation of miRNA -34c and clinicopathological param-eters were analyzed with the clinical and follow -up data.Results The relative expression of miRNA -34c in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues was lower than the chronic nasopharyngeal inflammation tissues,and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).With the increasing of clinical stages and lymph node metastasis,miRNA -34c expression was on the decline.Con-clusion miRNA -34c may participate in the occurrence and development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Regulating the expression of miRNA -34c volume is expected to provide new train of thought or method in the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
