Clinical efficacy of paclitaxel combined with nedaplatin in the treatment of advanced esophageal cancer

Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and toxicity of paclitaxel combined with nedaplatin in the treatment of advanced esophageal cancer.Methods 36 cases of advanced esophageal cancer treated with paclitaxel combined with nedapla-tin.The chemotherapy regimens:paclitaxel with 1 50 mg/m2 on the first day,nedaplatin with 25 mg/m2 from the second day to the forth day;21 days for 1 cycle.The efficacy and toxicity were evaluated after 2 cycles.Results There were 1 case (2.8%) of complete remission,1 6 cases (44.4%)of partial remission,1 1 cases (30.6%)of stable state,and 8 cases (22.2%)of disease progression.The total effective rate was 47.2% (1 7 /36).The main manifestations of toxic side effects were hematologi-cal toxicity,gastrointestinal reaction,neurotoxicity and hair loss,but they could be tolerated and alleviated after the symptomatic treatment or chemotherapy.Conclusion The therapeutic effect of paclitaxel combined and nedaplatin in the treatment of ad-vanced esophageal cancer is accurate with less toxic side effects.It can be used for the treatment of advanced esophageal cancer, and more suitable for the aged or patients with weak constitution.
