The analysis of correlation between CA199,CA72 -4 levels in serum and the clinicopathological features of gastric cardia adenocarcinoma

Abstract：Objective To study the relationship between CA1 99,CA72 -4 levels in serum and the clinicopathological fea-tures of gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA),and investigate the predictive roles of serum tumor markers on the pathological features of GCA.Methods 1 73 cases of gastric cardia adenocarcinoma were retrospectively collected.The distribution differ-ences of clinicalopathological features among the cases with positive or negative CA1 99,CA72 -4 in serum were compared.The predictive effects of the two positive tumor markers on the pathological characteristics of GCA were analyzed.Results The CA1 99 and CA72 -4 levels in serum had no correlation with both gender and age before treatment in cardia adenocarcinoma pa-tients (P >0.05),but had a positive relationship with infiltration and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05),and the CA72 -4 levels also related with the degree of differentiation (P <0.05).The lower the degree of differentiation was,the higher the posi-tive rate was.Furthermore,the positive rates of two tumor markers were positive correlated with the degree of differentiation, depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05).The positive rate of patient with ulcerative type were higher than other types (P <0.05).The prediction sensitivity of joint detection among various pathological features were significantly improved. Conclusion The CA1 99 and CA72 -4 levels in serum were associated with the pathological characteristics of gastric cardia ade-nocarcinoma.Both of them played an important role in predicting the pathological features of GCA.Combined detection could im-prove the sensitivity of prediction.The patients with positive results of joint detection probably appear the lower tumor differentia-tion,the deeper invasion and lymph node metastasis with poor prognosis.
