Abstract:Objective To study the effects of different doses of garlic oil on the immune function of mice. Methods 1 60 healthy female mice were randomly divided into 4 groups, each group was divided into 4 cages respectively,no.1 ~4,1 0 per cage.No.1 cage in each group was selected as ck,2,3,4 cages were fed with 2.0 mg/kg,4.0 mg/kg,8.0 mg/kg (low,me-dium and high)three doses of garlic oil respectively for 31 d.The viscera/weight ratio was determined in the first 4 cages;car-bon clearance test was carried out in the second batch;the experiments that macrophages in abdominal cavity of mice swallowed up chicken red blood cells was carried out in the third batch;the lymphocyte transformation test was carried out in the fouth batch. Results There was no significant difference in viscera/weight ratio between no.1 cage and no.2 ~4 cages(P >0.05). The phagocytic index in high -dose garlic oil group was significantly higher than the other two groups (P <0.05),and the car-bon clearance ability was improved. The phagocytic ratio of mice eating garlic oil was higher than that in no.1 cage(P <0.05), and with the increase of consumption of dosage, the phagocytic ratio was increased.Optical density difference of mice eating gar-lic oil was higher than that in no.1 cage(P <0.05).Conclusion Garlic oil could improve the immune function of mice.
