Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of carvedilol and metoprolol on glycolipid metabolism in hypertensive patients. Methods 80 hypertensive patients treated in the hospital from August of 201 2 to August of 201 4 were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into two groups with 40 cases in each. The control group was treated with metoprolol while the ob-servation group was treated with carvedilol. The changes of blood pressure, blood glucose and lipid related indicators and adverse reactions of the two groups before and after the treatment were compared. Results SBP and DBP of the observation group after treatment were (1 28.5 ±4.4)mm Hg and (80.2 ±3.0)mm Hg respectively.Compared with (1 35.5 ±4.1 )mm Hg and (86.4 ±2.8)mm Hg of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).There were significant differ-ences in FBG,TC and LDL -C between the two groups(P <0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions in two groups dur-ing the treatment. Conclusion Compared with metoprolol, the antihypertensive efficacy of carvedilol is more obvious, and the adjusting effect of metabolic disorder of glucose and lipid is more significant. It can be used as an important means to treat pa-tients with essential hypertension complicated by glucose and lipid metabolism disorder.
