Abstract:Objective To explore the “rocking -chair”archwire biomechanical system by constructing three -dimensional finite element model of the “rocking -chair”archwire.Methods Images of teeth and mandible were got by 64 spiral CT scan-ner,and then were imported into Mimics 1 5 software for 3D reconstruction. The surface model was made by Geomagic Studio 201 3 software and the brackets and wires models were built by NX 8.5.The model was meshed in Ansys workbench 1 3.0,con-tact relation was set and materials were assigned.Brackets were loaded according to reacting fore. The finite element model was integrated in Ansys software and was evaluated at the end of the article. Results A mechanical model was established, including Mandible, dentition, periodontal tissue,MBT brackets and “rocking -chair”archwire.Conclusion The three -dimensional element model constructed by the combination of CT scanner and reverse modeling is high similarity in geometry, providing the basis for application and research of the“rocking -chair”archwire.
