Clinical efficacy of sodium hyaluronate combined with betamethasone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of sodium hyaluronate combined with betamethasone in the treatment of Knee osteoarthritis. Methods 167 cases of Knee osteoarthritis treated in Kancheng People’s Hospital were selected and divided into group A and group B according to treatment methods. Group A(78 cases)received sodium hyaluronate combined with beta-methasone,once a weeK for 5 weeKs. Group B(89 cases)only received sodium hyaluronate,once a weeK for 5 weeKs. The Knee-pain visual analog scale( VAS)scores and joint function were recorded. Results The Knee VAS scores of two groups after treatment were decreased(P﹤0. 05). The Knee VAS score of group A was lower than group B(P﹤0. 05). There was no differ-ence on Knee VAS scores between two groups(P﹥0. 05). The excellent rate of group A was higher than group B(P﹤0. 05). There was no serious complication in the two groups. Conclusion Sodium hyaluronate combined with betamethasone had a good clinical efficacy and high safety in the treatment of Knee osteoarthritis. It deserves the clinical expansion.
