Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical and pathological feature changes of gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA)among 40 years.Methods The data of patients with GCA during 1 974 -201 3 were collected and stratified by diagnosis time, the clinico-pathological features of GCA in different periods were compared, and the clinical and pathological feature changes of GCA among 40 years were explored. Results The major gender of GCA in China was male among 40 years, showing a gradual rising trend, and the median age of onset was postponed to the age of 60 ~69.Tumors mainly located in the cardia, but the incidence of tumor in gastric cardia was increased. The tumor size was reduced when making a definite diagnosis of GCA in China during last 40 years;the main gross type was ulcerative type, but the gross types of early cancer were gradually increased, and the diffuse infil-trative types were significantly reduced;the differentiation gradually tend to be poorly;infiltration tend to infiltrate the whole lay-er,but the proportion of infiltration within the submucosa also obviously increased;the rate of lymph node metastasis was rising. Conclusion During the last 40 years, the proportion who were male, over 60 years old,the tumor located in gastric cardia was rising, the tumor diameter was smaller than 6 cm,the gross types of early cancer were ulcerative type, and the lymph nodes were positive. The high -incidence age of tumor was postponed;the major differentiation was tend to poorly instead of central differen-tiation;the invasion was transferred from mucosal layer to the poles.
