Abstract:Objective To explore the value of electroencephalogram in the diagnosis of acute viral encephalitis with mental disorder as the initial symptom. Methods 62 cases patients of acute viral encephalitis with mental disorder as the initial symp-tom were selected and received electroencephalography and imaging examination (cranial CT and MRI),the positive diagnostic rates of different inspection methods were compared. Results The positive diagnostic rates of electroencephalogram, cranial CT, MRI was 100% (62 /62),12.90% (8 /62),and 33.87% (21 /62)respectively.The positive diagnostic rates of electroen-cephalogram was significantly higher than cranial CT and MRI,the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclu-sion Electroencephalogram has a high application value in the diagnosis of acute viral encephalitis with mental disorder as the initial symptom, and is worthy of clinical expansion.
