Appraisal value of urine paraquat concentration and AFU on prognosis of patients with acute paraquat poisoning

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the appraisal value of urine paraquat concentration and AFU on prognosis of patients with acute paraquat poisoning.Methods 255 cases of acute paraquat poisoning were selected.The urine paraquat concentration and serum AFU levels were detected.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC)curve was used to analyze the value in prognosis eval-uation.Results Dosage,urine paraquat concentration and serum AFU levels in death group were higher than survival group (P <0.05).Both urine paraquat concentration and serum AFU levels could be used in the evaluation of the prognosis of patients with paraquat poisoning,but the former was more valuable.The areas under the ROC curve and 95% CI were 0.976 (0.961, 0.991 )and 0.630 (0.550,0.710)respectively.Conclusion Urine paraquat concentration had a higher predictive ability than AFU in the prognosis of patients with acute paraquat poisoning,which was more helpful in treatment options,illness observation and evaluation of curative effect.
