Abstract:Objective To explore the influences of unreasonable application of audio and video terminal on the hearing physi-ology of college students and HRCT manifestations of ossicular chain. Methods By the use of self -designed questionnaire,a survey was conducted on 1 200 college students of the grade 2012 in Shangqiu Medical College, those who had tinnitus and hearing loss were examined in the tuning fork test, pure tone audiometry, tympanometry and ossicular chain HRCT scanning. Results ① The findings of pure tone audiometry showed that 1 19 ears of 71 students had hearing loss, most of which dis-played significantly decline in low and intermediate frequency of AC and /or high frequency (2 000 Hz)of BC;ABG of 18 ears≥30 dB,and BC hearing curve chart of 11 ears appeared Carhart notch;② The results of tympanometry indicated that the tympa-nograms of 53 subjects derived from 55 students displayed type A;③ The findings of HRCT scan of ossicular chain revealed that 14 people whose tympanograms showed type A had narrowed gap or fusion of hammer anvil joint and the ears suffering hearing loss were corresponding to the ears having joint changes. Conclusion Hearing decline of college students by reason of long -term use of audio and video terminals may be related to the structure changes in hammer anvil joint of ossicular chain.
