Application of nano carbon tracer for protecting parathyroid function in the opetation of thyroid cancer

Abstract：Objective To explore the application of nano carbon tracer in the operation of surgical thyroid cancer.Methods 76 patients with thyroid cancer treated by operation in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July of 201 3 to July of 201 4 were selected,including 38 cases received nano carbon(nano carbon group)and 38 cases without application of nano carbon(control group).The levels of serum calcium,parathyroid hormone(PTH)before and after operation,and the proportion of temporary and permanent hypoparathyroidism in two groups were compared.Results The proportions of temporary and permanent hypoparathyroidism in nano carbon group were both lower than control group,the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05 );carbon group had no patient with permanent hypoparathyroidism,and the control group had 1 patients with permanent hypoparathyroidism.Conclusion Nano carbon lymph tracer could be helpful for showing lymph node,display and protection of parathyroid glands in situ,decrease intraoperative parathyroid damage.It has impor-tant clinical value.
