Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of ubenimex and DF combined chemotherapy regiment in the treatment of advanced esophageal cancer. Methods:Fifty four patients with advanced esophageal cancer were divided into control group (30 cases) and ob-servation group (24 cases). The control group was treated with DF chemotherapeutic protocol. The observation group was treated with ubenimex combined with DF chemotherapeutic protocol. The clinical efficacy and the changes on quality of life ( QOL) were evaluated, and the adverse re-actions were observed. Results:The total effective rate was 45. 8% in the observation group, and 40. 0% in the control group, The difference was not statistically significant (P>0. 05). The rate of progression was 16. 7% in the observation group, and 43. 3% in the control group (P<0. 05). The changes on quality of life ( QOL) in observation group were better than those in the control group ( P<0 . 05 ) . The hematological toxicity in the observation group was lower than that in the control group ( P <0 . 05 ) . Conclusion: Ubenimex and DF chemotherapy combination regiment could improve the efficacy of chemotherapy and the QOL for advanced esophageal cancer, and has definite effect of relieving toxicity on chemotherapy.
