Influences of rhodiola on the levels of IL-2, TNF-αin rats with chronic fatigue induced by composite factors

Abstract：Objective:To explore the influences of rhodiola on the levels of IL-2 , TNF-α in rats with chronic fatigue induced by composite factors. Methods:40 male SD rats were selected and randomly divided into normal group, model group, rhodiola group, guipi group. All rats were were dealed with tying, clipping the tails and cold-water swimming to establish rat models except normal group . The normal group were feeded with standard rat chow and water. The model group were given normal saline. The rhodiola group and guipi group were given rhodiola and guipi suspensions respec-tively for 21 d. The levels of IL-2, TNF-αin rats were detected by radioimmunoassay. Results:The levels of IL-2, TNF-α in normal group, rhodiola group and guipi group were higher than model group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0. 05). The differences of the levels of IL-2 , TNF-α between rhodiola group and normal group were not statistically significant ( P >0. 05). The levels of IL-2, TNF-α in guipi group were lower than normal group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant ( P<0 . 05 ) . Conclusion: Immunoregulation maybe one of the mechanisms of rhodiola in treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome.
