A sort of method to improve the capabilities of microwave applicator
Abstract：Objective: To make Hyperthermia more effective in the treament of tumor by improving the capabilities of mi-crowave applicator. Methods: Comparing the EHS values at the location of Max SAR between adding or not adding a cushionthere. Measuring EHD in different kinds of medium as bolus. Results: EHS were enlarged in some degree by adding a cushionat the location of Max SAR, the best is 42.9 %. Water was the most effective medium as bolus, its EHD was 3 cm approximate-ly. Conclusion: With the enlarged EHS by decrease the SAR at hot spot and increased EHD by means of water superficialcooling, the MW-applicator capabilities can be improved.
