Abstract:Drive amplifier is the power enlargement device in the front RF amplification chain of the transmitter, which is very important to the radar data reliability.Study the fault diagnosis process on chiplevel,on one hand, can solve the technical problem of fault location to the chip level for the technical support person,on the other hand, can significantly reduce the maintenance cost.Radar fault generally divided into improper parameter adjustment faults and device damage faults.According to the CINRAD/SA (B) transmitter driver amplifier signal process and fault tree atlas, based on synchronizing signal sequential relationship and key wave parameter, the normalized debugging techniques and methods and fault diagnosis location process on chip-level of drive amplifier adjusting solution are developed. Two successful fault diagnosis cases are illustrated to test the maintenance effect based on fault diagnosis location process:no power output from the drive amplifier caused by module N8 damage and abnormal + 8 V power and low power delivery caused by the second-level power amplifier module fault. The illustration showed that it could quickly locate the failure point at chip level in the transmitter driver amplifier based on the new fault diagnosis location process, the simple method, clear thinking and standard operation is easy for grassroots level technicians to master. The driver amplifier debugging techniques and methods can solve the radar fault caused by improper driver amplifier parameters adjustment, and effectively improve the technical support level of the new generation weather radar.
