Abstract:Elimination is a common method of fault diagnosis of electronic and mechanical equipment. In the case of lacking effective testing equipment,it can usually play a key role in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment. The software RDASOT is the off-line operating system for new generation weather radar, which plays an important role in the calibration check and fault location of radar.Using RDASOT dynamic testing method to position receiver fault is a method must to be mastered by the maintenance personnel.Shantou CINRAD/SA weather radar sends out different alarms from receivers and transmitters in the process of scanning and then no echo for the radar products appear, which finally leads to disorderly close-down and seriously influences observation. In order to have a thorough investigation of the fault, the article makes a list of all the possible reasons causing the fault. In the case that the station power meter probe is damaged and the power parameters of radar can't be directly metered, elimination is used.According to the signal process and fault phenomenon and with the transmitter high frequency link, transmitter modulator and signal processor successively excluded, the fault is located in the receiving channel. In order to further judge it is the front-end or the back-end failure of the receiver, combining with the dynamic range test results of the receiver RDASOT software,step-by-step isolation dynamic test method is used to narrow the scope of the fault progressively. Finally it can judge frequency source as the fault components and successfully bring the radar system back to normal. At last, according to the fault alarming information, combing with the analyzing and processing method, the fault diagnosis process of no echo while transmitter high voltage is normal is concluded, which could provide reference for weather radar fault maintenance.
