Effects of Sowing Date on Agronomic Characters and Physiological Characteristics of Salvia miltiorrhiza Seedlings

Abstract：In order to study the effect of sowing date on the seedlings of Salvia miltiorrhiza,the seedlings of S.miltiorrhiza from Henan province were used as materials,and the differences of agronomic characters and physiological indexes of the seedlings at nine sowing dates were analyzed.The results showed that with the delay of sowing date morphological indexes of S.miltiorrhiza seedling decreased obviously.Sowing S.miltiorrhiza after September,sound seedling index was reduced below 0.01.With the delay of sowing date the soluble sugar content of S.miltiorrhiza seedlings decreased successively,and the contents of soluble protein,POD and MDA increased gradually,while the activity of SOD was almost unchanged.Taken together the physiological characteristics and accumulation of morphological substances in S.miltiorrhiza seedlings,the cultivation date of S.miltiorrhiza should be before September.
