Abstract:In order to study the retention characteristics and application effect of the new coated fertilizer [diatomite modified starch-polyvinyl alcohol (KSP),bentonite modified starch-polyvinyl alcohol (BSP), zeolite modified starch-polyvinyl alcohol (ZSP)],soil column elution test and pot experiment were con-ducted to investigate the effect of fertilizers and crop response. The common urea was used as control in this experiment. The results showed that the nitrogen leaching amounts of KSP,ZSP and BSP for 6 and 12 d were 13.39%—26.19% and 4.27%—19.89% lower than that of uncoated urea(U),and the cu-mulative leaching amount of nitrogen was significantly reduced by 16.58%,5.59% and 21.65%.Coated urea could increase the pH value of the soil, and the pH value of the coated urea treatment was 0.6 units higher than that of the U treatment. The contents of chlorophyll and soluble sugar in plants treated with coated urea were 7.05%—12.60%,5.38%—9.66% higher than that of the U treatment, respectively. The biomasses of rapeseed and pea treated with coated urea were increased by 17.11%—21.58% and 37.95%—43.76% compared to CK without fertilizers, and significantly increased by 2.40%—3.81% and 2.85%—4.21% compared with the U treatment. Therefore, polymer coated fertilizer has good appli-cation prospects for improving soil fertility, crop biomass and quality.
