Abstract:Baculoviruses is a kind of covalently closed double stranded circular DNA insect virus and specifically infects invertebrates. As baculovirus is harmless to the environment and human beings,it plays an important role in biological control as a biological pesticide.Baculovirus can also be used as a kind of eukaryotic expression vector, widely applied in drug development and vaccine production,as well as gene transfer vector applied in gene therapy. This paper reviewed the research progress of baculovirus genomics and proteomics, which had great significance to clarify the virus infection mechanisms and also would be helpful to carry on molecular modification or develop highly effective biological synergists.
