Abstract:To study the mitigation effect of fish protein polypeptide on seedling growth of color pepper under copper stress, the seedlings of color pepper'Huaxianzi'were used to study the effects of different concentrations (0,1,3,5,7 g/L) of fish protein polypeptide on their growth and physiological characteristics under the treatment of 150 mg/L copper stress. The results showed that the growth of seedlings was inhibited significantly under copper stress.Plant height, stem diameter, fresh weight and dry weight of both aboveground part and underground part, antioxidant enzymes(SOD,POD,CAT) activities of color pepper seedlings were all increased significantly, while the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) was reduced significantly after spraying fish protein polypeptide on the leaves at the appropriate concentration. The optimum concentration of fish protein polypeptide was 5 g/L.These results indicated that fish protein polypeptide could effectively alleviate the copper stress on the growth of color pepper seedlings and enhance their ability to resist copper stress.
