Abstract:Toll-like receptors ( TLRs ) in innate immune cells recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns( PAMPs) or danger-associated molecular patterns ( DAMPs ) to initiate and regulate innate and adaptive immune responses. In this network of signal transduction, the banding of the different member of TLRs to one or more adaptor molecules is necessary to transduce signals to downstream kinases and transcription factors and to activate intracellular transcriptional regulation. TLRs contain the TIR domain. This review summarized the features and functions of adaptor molecules ( MyD88, MAL/TIARP, TRIF, TRAM and SARM) in order to further know the role of adaptors in TLRs signaling pathways.
