Effect of Ridge Tillage Planting Density on the Yield and Quality of Peanut
Abstract:To confirm the optimum ridge tillage planting density of peanut, the effect of five different plant densities(1. 50 × 105 ,1. 65 × 105 ,1. 80 × 105 ,1. 95 × 105 and 2. 10 × 105 holes per hectare) on the yield and quality of peanut was investigated in this study. The results indicated that the density influenced the yield of peanut significantly. The yield increased with the increase of planting density. The highest pod yield was achieved in the 2. 10 × 105 holes per hectare density treatment, which was 5 225. 8 kg/ha,and the following was achieved in density treatments with 1. 95 × 105 holes per hectare,of which the yield was 5 192. 8 kg/ha. However, there was no significant difference in peanut yield among the treatments which density were greater than 1. 95 × 105 holes per hectare. There was no significant difference in oil content, protein content, oleic acid content and linoleic acid content in peanut among all the ridge tillage planting density treatments. For Yuanza 9102,the main peanut cultivar in the south of Henan province, the appro-priate planting density is 1. 95 × 105—2. 10 × 105 holes per hectare.
