The Occurrence Dynamics and Chemical Control of Atrijuglans hetaohei in Linzhou

Abstract：To clarify the occurrence dynamics of Atrijuglans hetauhei in Linzhou city and screen for the best pesticide and appropriate concentration to control it, systematic investigation of its life history and canopy spraying control were conducted. The results showed that A. hetauhei had two generations per year in the Linzhou area. The adults of the first generation were found to have a marked increase during the last 20 days of April,and the infestation period of the larvae was at late April. The second generation adults emerged largely during the last 20 days of June and the trees were infested severely in the first 10 days of July by the larvae. Chlorpyrifos diluted 1 000 times,Matrine diluted 500 times and Acephate diluted 1 000 times were applied to the trees by spraying on the crown as the adults emerged, spraying once in the first generation and twice with 10-day interval in the second generation. The control efficacies were up to 82. 9%—89. 0%,and the three pesticides could be popularized in the production.
