Abstract：Potato virus S has many recognized strains including PVSO,PVSA,PVSO-CS and PVSA-CL accor-ding to the pathogenicity of causing systemic infection in Chenopodium spp. and the molecular character. Here the genome structure of PVS, the types, molecular character, and identification methods of PVS strains are reviewed to provide the reference and instruction for research on the strains of PVS in China.
