Abstract:In order to improve the survival rate of tea tree single node cutting, this paper studied relation between cutting times, cutting media, tea cultivars, single node standard and the tea seedling survival rate, qualified plant rate and tea seedling quality. The results showed that the optimum cutting time was early September, when the survival rate and qualified plant rate both reached the highest,92·4% and 80·4%,and one-year-old tea seedlings reached gradeⅠstandard. As to the cutting media, treatment D(peat soil covered with 5 cm mud and sand)had the highest survival rate and qualified plant rate, reaching 71·1% and 65·4%,and one-year-old tea seedlings reached gradeⅠstandard. There were differences in the survival rate of tea cultivars, showing as Wuniuzao > Fudingdabaicha > Yingshuang > Baihaozao > Bixiangzao. The survival rate and tea seedling quality of coarse and short cuttings were higher.
