Enrichment Ability of Selenium and Quality of Different Rice Varieties

Abstract：In order to select the good quality rice species with rich selenium,the soil and rice samples were collected from selenium-rich areas in Ankang,and were used to analyze the selenium content and quality of rice.The results showed that the average selenium content of 13 rice varieties was 0·08 mg/kg.When the soil selenium content reached the maximum 0·82 mg/kg,the rice variety Guofeng 1 showed the maximum selenium content level of 0·16 mg/kg.Yuyou 35 had the minimum selenium content of 0·04 mg/kg when the soil selenium content was 0·31 mg/kg.Dyou 11 presented relatively a higher selenium content of 0·14 mg/kg in condition of low soil selenium(0·31 mg/kg).It suggested that the capacity of extracting selenium from soil varied greatly in different varieties.Within a certain range,the selenium content and quality of rice increased with the increase of soil selenium content.By comparison,Dyou 11 and Huiyouduoxi 1 were selected as the varieties with good quality and high selenium enrichment ability.
