Abstract：In order to study the effects of biotic potassium on the grow th of flue-cured tobacco ,the comparative tests were conducted between conventional fertilizer and biotic potassium in Shilin country .The effects of biotic potassium on growth period ,agronomic characters ,disease incidence and economic characters of the flue-cured tobacco were studied .The results showed that the see-ding stage was shortened by three days through applying biotic potassium ,and the entire field growth period was advanced by five days .The length of taproots by applying biotic potassium was 101 cm and significantly higher than that of the control group (89 cm ) .In the rosette stage ,the height of plant was 31 .5 cm and significantly higher than that in the control group (29 .1 cm) .In the vigorous and capping period ,the differences of the agronomic characters were not significant .The disease incidence and disease index of flue-cured tobacco by applying biotic potassium were less than the control group .Moreover ,the yield ,output value and the upper tobacco ratio after applying biotic potassium were 2 565 kg/ha ,52 656 .0 yuan/ha and 87% ,respectively ,significantly higher than those in the control (2 475 kg/ha ,48 892 .5 yuan/ha and 78% ,respectively ) .
