Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between perceived social support(PSS)and post-traumatic growth(PTG)among plateau military personnel, and to examine the serial mediating roles of attention to positive infor-mation(API)and psychological resilience. Methods A cross-sectional design was used,1 922 male plateau military per-sonnel were assessed using the perceived social support scale(PSSS),the connor-davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC),the attention to positive information scale(APIS)and the posttraumatic growth inventory(PTGI).Firstly,Pearson cor-relation and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the association and predictive effect of variables, and then Bootstrap method was used to test the chain mediation effect to verify the hypothesized path. Results PSSS,APIS and CD-RISC were all significantly and positively correlated with PTGI(r=0.489,0.600,0.627,all P<0.01).Regres-sion analysis revealed that PSSS,APIS and CD-RISC were significant positive predictors of PTGI(β=0.171,0.253,0.360,all P<0.001).Mediation analysis indicated that PSS influenced PTG through three pathways:the mediating effect of API alone accounted for 35.54%,the mediating effect of psychological resilience alone accounted for 14.73%,and the serial mediating effect of API-psycho-logical resilience accounted for 13.67%(the total indirect effect was 64.46%).Conclusion PSS primarily pro-motes PTG among plateau military personnel through the serial mediating effects of API and psychological resili-ence.It is suggested to improve the API and psychological resilience levels of officers and soldiers at different levels to enhance PTG and promote mental health.
