Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of closed reduction internal fixation with elastic stable intramedullary nailing(ESIN)for radial neck fractures in pediatric patients. Methods From June 2019 to June 2024,21 pediatric patients of O'Brien type Ⅱ-Ⅲ radial neck fractures were treated with ESIN closed reduction, wound healing and postoperative complications were followed up and observed.Twelve months after surgery, the quality of re-duction was evaluated by Métaizeau criteria, and the elbow function of children was evaluated by Mayo elbow function score. Results A total of 21 pediatric patients successfully completed surgery,follow-up time 12-24(16.50±3.00)months,all fractures achieved functional reduction,no deep infection.Métaizeau elbow score:19 cases were excellent(90.48%),2 cases were good(9.52%).Mayo elbow function score:20 cases were excellent(95.24%),1 cases were good(4.76%).Conclusion ESIN technology can achieve minimally invasive stable fixation for pediatric radial neck frac-tures,especially suitable for O'Brien type Ⅱ-Ⅲ fractures,it has high anatomical reduction rate, excellent functional re-covery and low complication risk, making it a safe and effective treatment choice.
