Abstract:Objective To analyze the prevalence of human papillomavirus(HPV)infection among women and its correlation with thinprep cytologic test(TCT)results. Methods A total of 3 894 women who underwent HPV and TCT in a hospital in Wuhan from February 2024 to February 2025 were selected as the study subjects, the characteristics of HPV infection in different age groups and TCT results were compared and analyzed. Results Among participants,311 cases(7.99%)were HPV positive, including 241 cases of single infection(77.49%),57 cases of double infection(18.33%)and 13 cases of multiple infection(4.18%);257 cases(82.64%)were in high-risk group and 54 cases(17.36%)were in low-risk group. The constituent ratios of high-risk and low-risk genotypes were 79.44%and 20.56%,respectively.The main prevalent high-risk genotypes were HPV58,16,53,18,51 and 52.The detection rates of HPV in women with physical examination and without physical examination were 3.52%and 13.89%,respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),among which the highest HPV detection rate was 13.96%in the outpatient. There was a significant difference in the distri-bution of HPV infection genotypes among different age groups(P<0.05),among which, the HPV detection rate in the 16-20 years old was higher than that in the other age, infection with single,high-risk types of HPV was predominant across all ages group.TCT results showed that:there were 197 cases(5.06%)of atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance(ASC-US),23 cases(0.59%)of low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion(LSIL),15 cases(0.39%)of high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion(HSIL)and negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy(NILM)was not found in 3 659 cases(93.97%).There was a significant difference in HPV detection rate among patients with different TCT results(P<0.05),NILM had the lowest HPV detection rate, while ASC-US and LSIL+HSIL had significantly higher HPV detection rates, and there was a significant difference in HPV detection rate among patients with different TCT results in each group(P<0.05),the detection rate of high-risk HPV infection in HSIL+LSIL patients was significantly higher(P<0.05).Con-clusion The main high-risk genotype of HPV infection were HPV 58,16,53,18,51 and 52,and the infection was dominated by single and high-risk type, the age distribution characteristics were"U"type, and the detection rate of high-risk HPV increased with the increase of TCT cytopathology,so HPV infection screening should be carried out for high-risk population,it is of great significance for the prevention and control of cervical cancer in women.
