Predictive Value of Urate Deposition Index on Urate Crystal Deposition in Joints of Patients with Hyperuricemia

Abstract：Objective To explore the predictive value of urate deposition index(UDI)on urate crystal deposition in joints of patients with hyperuricemia.Methods A total of 239 male patients with hyperuricemia who visited from June 2021 to December 2023 were selected,the patients were divided into positive group(n=132)and negative group(n=107)according to the presence or absence of urate crystals detected by dual-energy computed tomography(CT),the clini-cal data of patients in two groups were collected,and the urate crystal joint deposition was predicted by using UDI.Re-sults Compared with the negative group,the age,serum uric acid level,duration of hyperuricemia and UDI of patients in the positive group were higher(all P＜0.001).Logistic regression analysis showed that age and UDI were independent risk factors for joint deposition of urate crystals(all P＜0.05).The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analy-sis showed that UDI,serum uric acid and duration of hyperuricemia predicting the area under the curve(AUC)of joint deposition of urate crystals in hyperuricemia were 0.826,0.733 and 0.744,respectively.Conclusion The UDI can be utilized to predict the occurrence of urate crystal joint deposition in patients with hyperuricemia,which demonstrates con-siderable predictive value.
