Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)guided traditional Chi-nese medicine nursing approach on gastrointestinal function rehabilitation and pain management in patients undergoing lap-aroscopic colectomy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 93 laparoscopic colectomy patients at the author's hospital from January 2023 to February 2024,the patients were divided into observation group(n=47)and control group(n=46)based on different nursing approaches. The patients of control group were arranged to receive standard ERAS nursing, while the patients of observation group were arranged to receive ERAS guided traditional Chi-nese medicine nursing. The gastrointestinal function indexes, pain degree and life quality of patients in two groups were compared. Results The bowel sound recovery time, first flatus time, first defecation time and regular diet recovery time of patients after surgery in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(all P<0.05);the pain degree at 6,12,24,36 and 48 h of patients after surgery in the observation group were significantly weaker than those in the control group(all P<0.05);the scores of physiological function, physical function, mental health and over-all health perception of patients in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Implementation of the ERAS guided traditional Chinese medicine nursing helps accelerating the gastro-intestinal function rehabilitation, mitigating postoperative discomfort and improving the quality of life.
