Multi-center Survey on Parenting Concern in Young and Middle-aged Patients with Lung Cancer and Its Influencing Factors

Abstract:Objective To investigate the level of parenting concern in young and middle-aged lung cancer patients in Wuhan city and to analyze its influencing factors.Methods A total of 407 young and middle-aged lung cancer patients treated in 3 grade A tertiary hospitals in Wuhan were selected from September 2023 to March 2024 by typical sampling method.The self-made general information questionnaire,the cancer parenting concern scale,the fear of disease progres-sion scale,the resilience scale and the economic toxicity scale were used to investigate in this study.Multiple linear re-gression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of parenting concern in young and middle-aged lung cancer pa-tients.Results The total scores of the parenting concern scale,the fear of disease progression scale,the resilience scale and the economic toxicity scale for young and middle-aged lung cancer patients were(54.92±9.78),(36.46±8.76),(33.07±11.68)and(13.73±6.33)respectively.The total score of the parenting concern scale was positively correlated with the score of the fear of disease progression scale(r=0.172,P<0.01),negatively correlated with the total score of the resilience scale(r=-0.727,P<0.01)and negatively correlated with the total score of the economic toxicity scale(r=-0.604,P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression showed that,the per capita monthly income of the families,place of residence,number of juvenile children,psychological resilience and economic toxicity were the main in-fluencing factors of parenting concern in young and middle-aged lung cancer patients,which explained 60.60%of the total variation.Conclusion The parenting concern of young and middle-aged lung cancer patients in Wuhan has high level,and medical personnel should focus on evaluating the per capita monthly income of the families,place of residence,number of juvenile children,psychological resilience and economic toxicity,and the parenting concern of patients should be identified as soon as possible,effective interventions should be carried out in time to reduce the psychological burden of patients.
