Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of nutrition intervention combined with enteral nutrition pump on nutri-tional status and quality of life of patients with thoracic esophageal cancer based on nutritional risk screening 2002(NRS-2002)scale.Methods A total of 120 patients with thoracic esophageal cancer admitted to author's hospital from August 2022 to July 2024 were reviewed, they were divided into experimental group(n=62)and control group(n=58)accord-ing to the nutrition intervention mode. The control group received conventional intervention with enteral nutrition pump, the experimental group received nutrition intervention on the basis of control group based on NRS-2002 scale. The pa-tient-generated subjective global assessment(PG-SGA)scale scores, nutritional indicators[hemoglobin(Hb),albumin(ALB)and prealbumin(PA)],European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Question-naire-C30(EORTC QLQ-C30)scores and complications were compared between the two groups. Results After interven-tion,PG-SGA scale scores of both groups were lower than those before intervention, and the experimental group got a lower score compared to the control group(all P<0.05).After intervention, the levels of Hb,ALB and PA of patients in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and the levels were higher in experimental group(all P<0.001).After intervention,EORTC QLQ-C30 scores of patients in all dimensions were higher than those before inter-vention,and the experimental group got higher scores compared to the control group(all P<0.05).The total incidence of complications of patients showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Combined the use of nutrition intervention based on NRS-2002 and enteral nutrition pump can improve nutritional status of patients with thoracic esophageal cancer, and enhance the quality of life with safety.
