Abstract:Objective To investigate the current status and latent categories of post-traumatic growth(PTG)in colorectal cancer patients, and analyze the characteristics and influencing factors of different categories. Methods A total of 375 colorectal cancer patients from a grade A tertiary hospital in Hubei province were selected as study object, the pa-tients were surveyed by general information questionnaire,post-traumatic growth inventory(PTGI),positive psychologi-cal capital questionnaire(PPQ),medical coping modes questionnaire(MCMQ)and health literacy management scale(HeLMS).The PTG latent categories of colorectal cancer patients were identified by Mplus 8.3 software, and the influ-encing factors were analyzed by univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis. Results PTG in colorectal cancer patients could be divided into 3 categories:low growth level-low possibility group(12.00%),moderate growth level-rela-tionship oriented group(50.93%)and high growth level-high personal strength group(37.07%).Results of univariate analysis of the latent profile of PTG in colorectal cancer patients showed that, there were statistically significant differ-ences in educational level, marital status, family monthly income per capita, disease type,PPQ score,HeLMS score and MCMQ(confrontation, avoidance and resignation dimension)scores among different categories of patients(all P<0.05).The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis of the potential profile of PTG in colorectal cancer patients showed that, the educational level of senior high school/vocational school, family monthly income per capita of 1 000-3 000 RMB,the scores of PPQ,HeLMS and MCMQ(confron-tation dimension)were the influencing factors of latent categories in low growth level-low possibility group(P<0.05);family monthly income per capita of 1 000-3 000 RMB,the scores of PPQ and HeLMS were the influen-cing factors of latent categories in moderate growth level-relationship oriented group(P<0.05).Conclusion PTG in colorectal cancer patients can be categorized into 3 potential types.Healthcare providers should develop personalized and targeted interventions based on the characteristics and influencing factors of each category to enhance PTG level in color-ectal cancer patients.
