Analysis of Mental Health Status of Postgraduate Students in Military Medical University and Investigation of Management Strategies

Abstract:Objective To analyze the current situation of mental health status of graduate students in military medi-cal universities and to explore feasible management ideas.Methods The generalized anxiety disorder 7(GAD-7),patient health questionnaire 9(PHQ-9),perceived stress scale(PSS),Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC),perceived social support scale(PSSS),and general self-efficacy scale(GSES)were used to conduct questionnaire surveys for 2081 postgraduate students of a military medical university.Results The scores of anxiety,depression and perceived stress of female graduate students were significantly higher than those of male graduate students(all P<0.05),the scores of per-ceived stress of master students were significantly higher than those of doctoral students(P<0.05),and the scores of anxiety and perceived stress of local students were significantly higher than those of military students(all P<0.05),the scores of anxiety,depression and perceived stress of postgraduates who had not started the project in the middle period,who had not graduated in the middle period and who had delayed the project were significantly higher than those of post-graduates who had not started the project(all P<0.05),the scores of psychological resilience and self-efficacy of male and doctoral postgraduates were significantly higher than those of female and master postgraduates(all P<0.05),the scores of psychological resilience,comprehending social support and self-efficacy of military students were significantly higher than those of local students and other academic stages(who enrolled but not started the project,who had not star-ted the project in the middle period,who had not graduated in the middle period and who had delayed the project post-graduates)(all P<0.05).Conclusion Mental health of postgraduate trainees in military medical universities is affected by gender,degree level,type of trainee and stage of study;and are proposed based on the current mental health prob-lems,so as to management measures the mental health level of postgraduates in military medical universities.
