Abstract:Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of combining lumbar and abdominal core muscle training with deep muscle stimulator(DMS)in the treatment of chronic non-specific low back pain(CNLBP)patients. Methods A total of 70 CNLBP patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into the control group(n=35)and the observation group(n=35)by random number table method. Both groups received routine treatment and DMS treat-ment,while the patients in observation group received further training on the core muscles of the waist and abdomen for 4 consecutive weeks. Before and after treatment, the visual analog score(VAS),Oswestry disability index(ODI),and fin-ger to floor distance(FFD)were used to assess the patients'pain level and lumbar function, and muscle bone ultrasound imaging was also used to assess the cross-sectional area of the multifidus muscle in the lower back. Results After treat-ment,the VAS score,ODI score, and FFD length of patients of the two groups were significantly lower than that before treatment, and the observation group had lower VAS score,ODI score, and FFD length than the control group, and the cross-sectional area of the multifidus muscle in the observation group was larger than that in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of lumbar and abdominal core muscle training with DMS can effectively alleviate pain and improve lumbar function in CNLBP patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
