Abstract：Objective To design a new multimedia doctor-patient communication system based on hospital informa-tion system(HIS),and discuss the feasibility of this system in combination with medical process,medical needs and in-formation technology.Methods A new doctor-patient communication system was designed by using PowerBuilder pro-gramming tools and Adaptive Server Anywhere(ASA),which was interfaced with HIS.Results The traditional doctor-patient communication model had shortcomings such as low efficiency,information asymmetry and difficulty in tracing,the new multimedia doctor-patient communication system could make up for the shortcomings of the traditional doctor-pa-tient communication system,which had good scientificty and feasibility.Conclusion The new multimedia doctor-patient communication system has obvious advantages and strong practicability,it has important value in improving the effect of doctor-patient communication,improving the efficiency of medical work and promoting the harmony of doctor-patient rela-tionship.
