Application Value of Proton Pump Inhibitor in Treatment of Stress Ulcer in Pilots

Abstract：Objective To explore the application value of proton pump inhibitor for stress ulcer so as to provide a clinical reference for the treatment of pilots' stress ulcer.Methods Forty-two cases with stress ulcer pilots from gastroenterology department in Air Force General Hospital were randomly divided into proton pump inhibitor group and non-proton pump inhibitor group, 21 cases each.The effective rate, average bleeding time, gastric juice Ph and serum gastrin levels between two groups were compared after a week treatment.Results The total effective rate of proton pump inhibitor group was higher than that of non-proton pump inhibitor group, but no significantly differences were found between two groups (P＞0.05).The average bleeding time of proton pump inhibitor group was obviously shorter than that of non-proton pump inhibitor group, the gastric juice PH and serum gastrin levels were better than those of non-proton pump inhibitor group after a week treatment (all P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of proton pump inhibitor is a better treatment for pilot stress ulcer, which is worthy of clinical application.
