Abstract:Objective To investigate the analgesic effect and mechanism of compound Qi Xiong granule on inflammatory pain in adjuvant arthritis rats. Methods Sixty Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group, model group, Tripterygium wilfordii group (0.94 mg/ml) and compound Qi Xiong granule groups (Qi Xiong granule, 2, 1, 0.5 g/ml), 10 rats in each group. The mechanical pain threshold value of rats was measured by von Frey electronic pain detector, and the expressions of interleukin 2 (IL-2) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) in spinal cord tissues of rats were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results Compared with model group, compound Qi Xiong granule obviously up-regulated the threshold value of inflammatory pain in adjuvant arthritis rats induced by complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) and IL-2 expression, but clearly down-regulated the proinflammatory cytokine IL-6 expression in spinal cord tissue (P<0.01).Conclusion Qi Xiong granule can relieve inflammatory pain in adjuvant arthritis rats, and its mechanism may be related to regulating the expressions of inflammatory cytokines IL-2 and IL-6 in spinal cord tissues.
