Abstract:Objective To discuss the clinical efficacy and security of endoscopic electrocoagulation and nasal packing gauze therapy for 90 cases of intractable epistaxis, and provide reference for the clinic. Methods Ninety patients with intractable epistaxis in authors' department were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,45 cases in each group. The control group was filled with Vaseline gauze, and the treatment group received electrocoagulation under nasal endoscope. Results The total efficiency rate of treatment group was significantly higher than that of control group (95.56% vs.73.33%,P<0.05).The complication rate of treatment group was significantly lower than that of control group (6.67% vs.26.67%,P<0.05).The average hospital stay and recurrence rate of treatment group were obviously lower than those of control group (P<0.01).Conclusion The electrocoagulation under nasal endoscope in treatment of intractable epistaxis has good clinical efficacies, safeties and lower recurrence rates. It can be used as the first choice in clinical application.
