Identification of Shenyuqingxuan Ointment by Thin Layer Chromatography

Abstract：Objective To establish thin layer chromatography (TLC) method for identification of Shenyuqingxuan Ointment,optimized the quality testing and control.Methods Comus officinalis,Cistanche deserticola,Fructus lycii,Rehmannia glutinosa and Semen Cuscutae were identified by TLC Shenyuqingxuan Ointment.The spread out agent were methylbenzene-ethyl acetate-formic acid (20 ∶ 4∶ 0.5),chloroform-methanol (40 ∶ 1),ethyl acetate-chloroform-formic acid (3 ∶ 2 ∶ 1),ethyl acetate-methanol-formic acid (16∶0.5∶2),methanol-glacial acetic acid-water (4∶1∶5) and the thin-layer plate was made with silica gel G (10 cm× 10 cm,0.20-0.25 mm).Results The TLC spots of Cornus officinalis,Cistanche deserticola,Fructus lycii,Rehmannia glutinosa and Semen Cuscutae were clear,separated well and negative without interference.Conclusion This method is accurate and feasible,which can be applied as the identification of various components in Shenyuqingxuan Ointment.
