Closed Reduction and Trigen in the Treatment of Middle-aged and Elderly Patients with Proximal Humerus Fractures

Abstract:Objective To evaluate clinical efficacy of closed reduction and Trigen in the treatment of middle-aged and elderly patients with proximal humerus fractures.Methods A total of 26 patients underwent closed reduction and Trigen in the treatment of proximal humerus fractures in authors' hospital from September 2015 to June 2016 were retrospectively analyzed,among whom 15 were males,11 were females,aged from 48 to 74 years old (average 61.4 years old),14 cases with the right fracture and left side in 12 cases.Results All patients obtained 9 to 18 months follow-up (mean 13.7 months),all cases showed clinical-healing,no infection,no nonunion,no internal fixation looseness or other complications.After postoperative six months,scored by Neer classification:excellent in 13 cases,good in 10 cases and fair in 3 cases,the excellent and good rate were 88.46%.Conclusion Closed reduction and Trigen are effective for middle-aged and elderly patients with proximal humerus fractures,which can achieve good clinical results.
