Detection and Clinical Significance of Sclerostin and RANKL in Postmenopausal Women with Osteoporosis
CHEN Wei
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression levels of sclerostin (SOST) gene and receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL) in the peripheral blood of postmenopausal women with osteoporosis, and discuss the clinical value of combined detection of RANKL and SOST mRNA in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis (POP).Methods A total of 120 postmenopausal women were collected in author's hospital from April 2015 to October 2015.The levelsof bone minaral density (BMD),SOST,RANKL,estradiol (F2) and progesterone (P) of them were detected, respectively.Acroding to BMD scores,120 patients were divided into POP group (n =42) and normal group (n =78).Results The SOST and RANKL levels of POP group were lower than these of normal group (P<0.05).The sensitivity and specificity of predicting POP achieved 85.71% and 88.46% by combined detection of SOST and RANKL.Conclusion Combined detection of BMD,SOST,RANKL and E2 can increase the detectable rate of POP.
