Study on Mindfulness Training in the Intervention of Job Burnout for Medical Workers in Blood Purification Center

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness training(MT)in the intervention of burnout for medical workers in blood purification center.Methods A total of 52 medical workers in the blood purification center in author's hospital were collected in March 2016 and divided into experimental group and control group(n=26)by random number table.The experimental group accepted MT for half a year,and the control group received routine psychological guidance.Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and maslach burnout inventory(MBI)were used to assess before and after training.The relationship between anxiety and job burnout were conducted to correlation analysis.Results Before the study,no significant differences were found in anxiety and job burnout between the experimental and control group(P>0.05).Six months later,the proportion of severe anxiety in experimental group was significantly lower than that of control group(P>0.05).The severity of emotional exhaustion,depersonalization,personal accomplishment in the experimental group were all less than those of control group(P<0.05).The emotional exhaustion and depersonalization were positively correlated with the degree of anxiety,but personal accomplishment was the opposite.Conclusion MT can effectively lower the job burnout and anxiety for medical workers in blood purification center.
